At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar job, ideally in the IT industry.

Job requirements

• When assigned work, define the preliminary schedule, write a doc plan if necessary, and detail tasks as required.
• Actively manage incoming and changing workloads and identify to your team leader any requests that cannot be handled with an explanation of the reasons why.
• Research information and write accurate learning information for the products concerned.
• Be able to multi-task on several assignments and handle complex projects that may involve working and coordinating with multiple writers for the deliverables.
• Perform as a lead writer when necessary; propose and monitor the planning and documentation schedules for multiple writers on a project, provide guidance and coaching to other writers on the project that may need assistance, and actively keep the team leader informed.
• Manage internal documentation projects as requested by the team leader, using the client methodology adapted as necessary to suit the size of the project.
• Actively pursue information required to complete projects.
• On completion of a project, follow the appropriate procedures to close the project properly.
• Use authoring tools & methodologies approved and endorsed by the Documentation Services group.
• Adhere to writing, publishing and file-management procedures used within the Documentation Services group.
• Build and maintain working relationships and active communication channels to obtain and share pertinent product-related and project-related information. The players are your team leader, departmental colleagues, product managers, product definition/product analysts, development managers, QA officers and project managers.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of client Agency Manager, client Travel packaging, and Client management Information System products.

Who we are looking for

Education:

• Formal writing qualification preferred
• University degree preferred

Personal and Technical Skills:

• At least 3 years experience writing online and printed documentation for software applications
• Ability to develop a project plan, to manage a project, and ensure that project deliverables are as required
• Proficient with at least one writing/authoring application, preferably Author IT
• Single sourcing experience preferred
• Well organized, autonomous and reliable
• Able to work as part of a small team of technical writers
• Excellent written and spoken English
